who am I?

Hi, I am Jonas.

I am a Programmer and an Engineer.

I write software at Protocubo, a company I co-founded in 2013. We design primarily web-based applications for a wide range of fields, from accounting to digital typesetting.

Open-source software is awesome, and I am fortunate to work with people that feel the same way. I am also the maintainer of liquidctl and, more recently, PyUSB.

and before that?

I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (POLI/USP).

My undergraduate research simulated the microscopic process of drilling high machinability steel,¹ and my dissertation consisted in a feasibility study for incorporating a continuously variable transmission to our team's Formula SAE car.²

Then, and for nearly four years, I built demand forecast models for urban transit systems mixing off-the-shelf simulators with in-house tools I helped to implement.
