who am I?

Hi, I am Jonas.

I am a Programmer and an Engineer.

I write software at Protocubo, a company I co-founded in 2013. We primarily design and build web-based applications for a wide range of fields, from accounting to digital typesetting and simulation of transportation systems.

Open-source software continues to be awesome, and I am fortunate to work with people that feel the same way. I currently maintain a couple of Linux kernel drivers, liquidctl and PyUSB, and I also frequently contribute to the projects I use or find interesting.

before that...

I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (POLI/USP).

My undergraduate research simulated the microscopic process of drilling high machinability steel,1 and my dissertation consisted in a feasibility study for incorporating a continuously variable transmission to our team's Formula SAE car.2

Before founding Protocubo – then Elebeta – I built demand forecast models for urban transit systems at Logit, mixing off-the-shelf simulators with in-house tools I helped to implement.
