who am I?
Hi, I am Jonas.
I am an Engineer and a Programmer. I currently live in Rio de Janeiro.
I write software at Protocubo, a company I co-founded in 2013. We design primarily web-based applications for a wide range of fields, from accounting to digital typesetting.
My tool of choice for most problems is Haxe, a modern, strongly-typed, and cross-target programming language.
And since open-source development is awesome, I am proud to say that at Protocubo we contribute back to the tools we use. Many of our projects are open-source as well.
and before that?
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (POLI/USP).
My undergraduate research simulated the microscopic process of drilling high machinability steel.
My dissertation consisted in a feasibility study for incorporating a continuously variable transmission to our team's Formula SAE car.
And, for nearly four years, I built demand forecast models for urban transit systems mixing off-the-shelf simulators with in-house tools I helped to implement.
